At 10:00, the bus on the Korovoda line, carrying 50 passengers, mostly women and children, was traveling toward the city of Berat. At around 10 in the morning, according to a 35-year-old driver, several testimonies indicate that, as a result of sudden braking, the bus lost control and left the road, falling into a ravine about 200 meters deep where the tragedy occurred. The police authorities have preliminarily confirmed that the accident was caused by the high speed of the public vehicle; unfortunately, the driver lost control on a bend and the vehicle crashed badly. Among the 10 dead was the driver himself. Seven of the 45 injured are in serious condition and are being treated in the hospital in Berat. Thousands of people have arrived in the city of Berat to see the misfortune of their relatives, while in the city there is a very heavy atmosphere and a sense of civic grief. Four witnesses were left crying nonstop for three hours in the city of Berat. The city’s silhouette and the grief have been deeply shaken.
